Distributing hit movies including Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained helped Entertainment One to lift group revenues by 11 per cent on a like-for-like basis.

The Anglo-Canadian company, which specialises in TV and film production and distribution, also benefited from the kids' cartoon Peppa Pig, which has won a 6pm primetime slot on the US channel Nick Jr.

E1 is on track to hit its full-year profit target by the end of February, with new films in the pipeline including Zero Dark Thirty and I Give it a Year.
