Handbag designer shoulders arcade's luxury plans
Sunday 22 May 2011
Fashion designer Lulu Guinness is set to bring her bags and purses to central London's Burlington Arcade.
The opening is part of new owners' plan to move the arcade to "21st century luxury" and capitalise on its heritage of being one of London's oldest arcades – it was built in 1819. It is thought Lulu Guinness will design a bag personalised for the arcade. Wilson McHardy and Jones Lang LaSalle are advising the owners, Meyer Bergman and Thor Equities.
