The luxury brand group Marchpole collapsed into administrative receivership yesterday, becoming the latest fashion company to hit the buffers.

Marchpole, which suspended trading in its shares on 4 November, has appointed Grant Thornton as administrative receivers, who will seek purchasers of the operating companies as trading businesses in co-operation with stakeholders.

Marchpole was established 1973 as a designer, manufacturer and distributor of fashion merchandise. Since then, it has completed a number of licence agreements and acquisitions, alongside its opening of five office and showroom locations in London Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Milan.
