The Welsh ringmaker to the royal family, Clogau Gold, is celebrating a 49 per cent rise in turnover.

The company has just won extended deals with High Street stockists Signet, F Hinds and Goldsmiths.

Clogau Gold owns the St David's mine in north Wales that produced the gold for rings for The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Queen Mother and Princess Diana.

"We have had another golden year. High Street turnover is up 50 per cent on last year. Our growth with H Samuel, part of the Signet Group, is 100 per cent year on year," said managing director Ben Roberts. "Clogau Gold further enjoyed a phenomenal 78 per cent rise in turnover in Wales. Online, we have seen the figures up 35 per cent."

Clogau Gold is consistently in the UK Top 5 for retail jewellery in the £150 to £500 band.
