Budget hotel chain Travelodge is to create 710 new jobs under a £223 million expansion programme in London, it was announced today.

A total of 26 hotels will be opened in the capital over the next two years, including 10 in time for next summer's Olympic Games, employing 280 staff.

Travelodge's human resources director Michelle Luxford said: "We are passionate about developing our people and I'm proud to say that 75% of all our management appointments are filled internally."
