Tui lays down the euro law with its Greek hotel clients

Tensions between Germany and Greece were simmering in an unexpected way yesterday, after the German tour operator Tui asked its Greek hotel clients to sign a contract amendment allowing it to pay its bills in drachmas if the country leaves the single currency.

Tui said: "As a responsible, publicly listed company, Tui seeks to avoid the possibility of any adverse effect from the currency or macroeconomic situation and plans accordingly."
