Vodafone announces 500 jobs to go in the UK

Vodafone yesterday confirmed it was to cut 500 jobs from its UK operations. The move marks a 5 per cent reduction of staff in the region. Although telecommunications has been considered a relatively resilient sector in the face of the economic downturn, this latest round of cuts follows thousands axed by both BT and Virgin.
