Sir Denys Henderson bows out on a high note
Sir Denys Henderson bows out on a high note. Addressing his last ICI annual meeting as chairman yesterday, Sir Denys said that the improvement seen at the end of last year had continued into the first quarter, with profits up 138 per cent to £244m in the first three months of 1995. With dividend cover now nearing the target of 1.5 to 2 times, Sir Denys suggested it would not be long before his successors considered raising the payment to shareholders. ICI's new chairman is Sir Ronnie Hampel.
