Open Eye: Out and about in April and May with AOUG

The Association of Open University Graduates will be holding its annual meeting at St Martins College, Ambleside over the weekend of 9-11 April.

In addition to the formal business of the meeting, the weekend will give members the opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside of the Lake District, which is at its most attractive in the spring.

Other events organised with AOUG in the forthcoming weeks are listed alongside.

Thursday, 15 April

Visit to the National Gallery, London to view the work of Ingres, an artist distinguished by his accomplished technique, and one of the 19th century's greatest portraitists.

Saturday 24 April

The Yorkshire region of the AOUG will be visiting Howarth, home of the Bronte sisters.

Sunday 9 May

The Aberdeen group of AOUG will be walking through Old Aberdeen, including a visit to the Cruickshank Botanic Garden led by Dr John Smith from the Geography department of Aberdeen University.
