INTRODUCTION

Although I'm 58 and have passed all the examinations I've needed to fulfil my career, I still have those nightmares when I realise that I've got exams coming up and I've done no work for them.

Although I'm 58 and have passed all the examinations I've needed to fulfil my career, I still have those nightmares when I realise that I've got exams coming up and I've done no work for them.

Some of you reading Which Way will have done better than you had hoped; some will have done less well. Whatever the outcome of your exams, you are to be congratulated for the effort which you have put in over recent months. Second, if you have got the grades which you needed for your place, brilliant. If you have not got the grades and need to look elsewhere in Clearing, please don't panic, because our experience, over many years, is that those who have the basic qualifications to go into higher education can find a place somewhere.

This magazine is intended to help everyone who is hoping to go to university or college this autumn and is designed to help those who will be thrilled to bits with their exam results and also those who are a little more disappointed but who, in the first few days or weeks of Clearing, will get themselves a place.

Going to university or college is very exciting and if you get to the institution where you really wanted to go, then good luck to you. On the other hand, if you end up going to an institution which you had not considered earlier, I can still guarantee that once you get there, you will enjoy it and, if you approach life in the right frame of mind, you will succeed.
