Grants boost rail freight

THE GOVERNMENT yesterday awarded 16 grants worth pounds 9.5m to the rail freight industry in a move it said would cut out 750,000 lorry road journeys. The scheme included plans to help get Rover cars and Safeway foods onto the railways.
