Venables wins High Court case
Terry Venables has defeated an attempt to wind up one of his companies in the High Court in London over allegations that it owed Whitbread, the brewers, £10,135.
Whitbread alleged that it was owed the money by Depthsubmit Ltd, owners of the Granby Tavern in Reading, Berkshire, for unpaid rent and products. Judge Alan Steinfeld ruled that Mr Venables had paid the money and Whitbread's accounting system had failed to record the payment.
