A woman who became "happy-go-lucky" after suffering mysterious brain damage, yesterday accepted pounds 225,000 in settlement of her compensation claim against a hospital.

The High Court in London was told that Lynne Vasishta, 37, of Sutton, Surrey, experienced a personality change - including difficulties coping with money - after an operation under a general anaesthetic at Kingston Hospital 14 years ago. The hospital did not admit liability.
