Labour names big donors
The chairman of Reed Executive was named last night as the Labour Party's latest big-business donor.
Officials said he was giving pounds 100,000, lifting to pounds 6m the total the party has raised in individual gifts from business people. Greg Dyke, chief executive of Pearson Television and Lord Hollick, chief executive of United News and Media, are giving pounds 25,000 to pounds 50,000. Officials revealed the donations after John Major spoke of the "secret fund" for Mr Blair's private office. It was confirmed last weekend that he received up to pounds 500,000 through a "blind trust" and did not know the donor.
