Letter: Scottish nationalism is about the English, and it isn't benign

A United Kingdom whose four nations do not have equal rights is not worth having. Yet Neal Ascherson advocates that the Scots should have a national parliament, the Welsh a powerless assembly, and the English mere regional assemblies.

There is a simple solution. The UK should go the way of the USSR. England should resume its independence and cut off all tax subsidies.
