Twitterers are trying their hand at statistics, posting messages of things that happen a lot, but not all the time. The term "2010" has also been rising steadily in the list of top trending topics, on December 31.

The Twitter meme "9 times out of 10 (#9timesoutof10)" has risen to the top position of the Twitter trends, and the 'statistic' seems to apply to almost anything that happens relatively often.

Here are a few examples of things that happen nine times out of ten, according to the microbloggers: "#9timesoutof10 i get drunk and fall over on NYE !," noted one user, who is still standing; "#9timesoutof10 right after u introduce urself, I already forgot ur name," and "#9timesoutof10 people will believe anything if you whisper it," wrote other contributors.

It's the last day of the year, and the term "#in2010" is picking up steam. It is used to express the Twittersphere's hopes, resolutions and predictions for the new year. One user writes: "#in2010 i will fully harness the ability of my macbook pro." Another displays more romantic endeavors: "#in2010 i will experience true love" and a football-obsessed oracle wrote the following predictions: "#in2010 ghana will win da world cup. arsenal will winda champions league npremier league n asante kotoko will win african champions league."

Korean Twitterers are wishing a happy birthday to local pop star Sung Min (from the Boy's Band Super Junior), and one user laments that the term is no longer at the top of the trending topics list, as the rest of the world wakes up.
