Twitter was filling up with spam at 9:30 AM GMT on Tuesday, March 2. Spambots are spewing out messages containing the trending topics "#uknowurhigh", "#shininghongstar," "#amitheonlyone," "Galpao 29," and "Brazil Torrents."

The spam messages are mostly advertising a "Free Apple iPad! Limited offer so hurry up! See details" and asking people to click on a link.

The hashtag "am I the only one" has moved down one place to number three.

The name of TV show host Conan O'Brien is back in the charts at number five. The former Tonight Show (a US-based late night comedy variety program) host was replaced by comedian Jay Leno on Monday, March 1 and Twitter users are sounding out a catch cry in support of O'Brien, or as some of his fans call him "CoCo."

Microbloggers are tweeting, "Sorry Chin, but my late night host is Conan O'Brien", "Conan O'Brien has some dedicated fans we all <3 him so much!" and "Conan O'Brien has a legion of devoted fans and the chin has people who are too lazy to change the channel after the news."

The top 10 most talked about topics on Twitter on March 2 at 9:30 AM GMT are:

1. #uknowurhigh (new)
2. #shininghongstar (new)
3. #amitheonlyone (-1)
