MEANWHILE, the Beeb is successfully tapping our love of nostalgia. It is extending The Radio Show at Broadcasting House for an extra two weeks, until 18 October. People have been flocking to the exhibition, which celebrates 70 years of radio, and there is pressure to create a permanent BBC museum. One of the key worries visitors have is the decision to use Radio 4 long wave, their favourite, for a rolling news service. It appears that the BBC emerging from the charter review runs the risk of being too advanced for its audience.
