New Yorker wins Perrier

Demetri Martin, a comedian from New York, was named the winner of the 23rd Perrier Comedy Award last night.

The shortlist included Flight of the Conchords, Adam Hills - who was the favourite - Reginald D Hunter and Howard Read. The winner of the Perrier Best Newcomer Award was Gary Le Strange. He beat off Alex Horne, Miles Jupp and Michael McIntyre.
