Mermaid's head returned
The sawn-off head of Copenhagen's Little Mermaid statue was recovered yesterday and police said it was undergoing laboratory tests in the search for the vandals.
The missing head of the city's best-loved monument and tourist attraction turned up in a box outside a television station.
"Apart from the damage done by the saw which was used to cut off the statue's head, it is in remarkably good condition with only a few scratches," said detective chief superintendent Niels Abildgaard. "The return of the missing head does not mean that the case has been solved, so the search for the culprits is going on. We have a lot to investigate."
