Magnus Larsson, who was part of the Swedish team who won the Davis Cup last weekend, had his rented car blown up in front of his house in Vaexjoe yesterday. An explosive charge was placed underneath the vehicle, a Ford, which was seriously damaged.

Yevgeny Kafelnikov, the 1996 French Open champion from Russia, and Richard Krajicek, the former Wimbledon champion of the Netherlands, are the latest entries for the Guardian Direct Cup at Battersea Park. This means that five of the top 17 players in the world will now be taking part in the ATP Tour event from 23 February to1 March.

Britain's team of Danny Sapsford, Martin Lee and Arvind Parmar have been drawn to meet Germany in the first round of the Champions Division at the European Men's Team Championship in Reggio Calabria, Italy, today. The British team are seeded third.
