The Bishop Creighton House Settlement and the Fulham Palace Museum are having a joint fund-raising party on Wednesday 12 May, at 6.30pm, at Fulham Palace Museum, Fulham, London. Bishop Creighton House Settlement, a multi-purpose community centre open during the day and evenings, offers practical help and advice to the unemployed, older people and those with disabilities. Its work includes community education for refugees as well as welcoming local self-help groups to use its centre. The BCH Settlement needs to raise pounds 170,000 to expand its community care facilities. Fulham Palace Museum has only recently been founded and aims to illustrate the history of Fulham Palace which was home to the bishops of London from Elizabethan times until 1973. Dr Mandell Creighton, whose widow created the charity in 1908 in his name, lived at Fulham Palace. Party tickets, which include wine and food prepared by 10 local restaurants, cost pounds 20, are available from:

Bishop Creighton House, 378 Lillie Road, London SW6 7PH, telephone 071-385 9689.
