The Homeless Furniture Project, which works in and around London by collecting - for free - unwanted furniture, appliances and kitchen equipment for reconditioning, needs to raise about pounds 6,000 to buy another second-hand van. After refurbishing the furniture or the equipment, the project gives the items to people being rehoused. The project trains and employs young, unemployed people to do the reconditioning work.

The Homeless Furniture Project, 6 Enderslie Square, London SW2 4DZ, telephone 071-738 7080.
