Arnold Schwarzenegger has reportedly granted an Austrian man "his dying wish" by promising to call him and send him cigars from his personal collection.

Josef Mittermeir, 75, was diagnosed with cancer three years ago and recently it became clear that his illness was terminal, according to a report by The Local.

On Saturday, his daughter Sarah launched a Facebook campaign to get Schwarzenegger to send her father a cigar from his personal collection. Her post quickly gained traction and was shared over 90,000 times. Days later, Sarah claims she was contacted by the German actor Ralf Möller, who had seen her appeal and spoken with the Terminator actor.

According to a translation obtained by The Independent, Sarah wrote: “When I told my father the good news he started crying, I have never seen him so moved in my entire life. He asked me to tell Ralf that he had given him the greatest gift.”

“Ralf Moeller and I have agreed to have a phone call on Saturday because he is staying in Kitzbühel with Arnie and my dad can talk to his great idol on the phone. The cigars are being delivered to my dad in the Post!

“Ralf is personally putting two in from himself - so my dad is getting not just cigars from Arnie but from Ralf as well. On top of that, Ralf has promised to send me a photo of him and Arnie taken specially for my dad. When I told my dad today he broke down into tears - never in my whole life have I seen him so moved.

“The only thing he could say was 'Please tell Ralf that he has given me the greatest gift'. It means a lot to him and he is eternally grateful for this incredible support."
