Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has appeared to address reports she is taking legal action over a photograph showing her near what was reported to be a white powdered substance in a bathroom.
Taking to Instagram, Fernandez-Versini shared an image of President Barack Obama on the phone, captioning the image “On the phone to my lawyers like…”
The photograph in question was uploaded by a fashion journalist after the British Fashion Awards on Monday evening. It shows the X-factor judge in the bathroom while “three lines” appear to be on a tiled shelf. There is no suggestion that the singer was aware of or linked to any substance, or that any apparent substance was drugs. A number of reports have pointed out that the "lines" appear simply to be a light reflection of some kind.
The picture was deleted from the journalist’s Instagram account, but The Sun reproduced the image. It was taken down after a warning from the singer’s legal team.

A source, said to be close to the 32-year-old told The Sun: “She absolutely despises drugs. She was just using the toilet.
“We believe the apparent lines were formed by a reflection of the light in the mirror.”
On Wednesday, The Daily Mirror took photographs inside the toilet in an attempt to prove that the bathroom lighting can cause the illusion of “white lines”.
Following this, Fernandez-Versini sent a tweet to the journalist who wrote the story saying "sense prevails".
In 2008, Fernandez-Versini said she is “anti-drugs” and was “put off [them] for life” following the death of a friend from a heroin overdose.
