Floyd Mayweather has drawn more criticism from around the world after he posted a picture of an early Christmas present on his Instagram account – a tiger.

Mayweather is in Moscow where he is carrying out a public training session on Friday, despite announcing his retirement earlier this year after his 49th consecutive victory in the ring which came in the form of a unanimous points decision over Andre Berto.

Despite the allure of surpassing Rocky Marciano’s 49-0 unbeaten record, Mayweather says he is done boxing and is instead finding other ways of angering and frustrating people – something which he managed last month by posting a video of a late-night party with a group of strippers.

Now, Twitter users are furious with Mayweather’s latest post which asks his followers for a name for the two-month-old tiger cub he has received.

Posting the picture on Instragram in which he is sat with the cub on a lead on top of a marble staircase, Mayweather added the caption: “I want to thank my family @themoneyteamrussia here in Moscow, Russia for the hospitality & my early Christmas present, a rare & exotic tiger from India.

“Any suggestions for a name for this two-month old, female tiger? #Moscow #Russia.”

Understandably, Twitter users with animal rights close to their hearts quickly responded to Mayweather with angry messages, while one person messaged the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, calling on him to do something about it after the tiger was taken from India.
