Jennifer Lawrence has been praised for “putting smiles on lots of faces” when she took time out of her busy filming schedule to meet young children at a hospital in Canada over the weekend.

The Silver Linings Playbook actress was in Montreal filming scenes for the latest instalment of the X-Men franchise, Apocalypse, when she visited the Shriners Hospitals for Children, which provides specialist care in cases related to orthopaedics, burns, spinal cord injury and cleft lip and palate.

The hospital posted pictures of Lawrence’s visit on Friday, writing: “A very special visitor stopped by our Canada hospital today. Jennifer Lawrence is in Montreal filming a new movie and she made time to visit some of our #ShrinersCanada kids and staff. Everyone had a great time!”
