Jeremy Clarkson’s daughter has said the former Top Gear presenter is a terrible “backseat driver”.

Em Clarkson, the eldest daughter of the irascible former BBC presenter, told the London Evening Standard her father’s attempt to teach her to drive was not a success.

“We went out together once and he took the steering wheel from me. Both of our nerves were frayed with my driving and his backseat driving,” she said.

In the wide-ranging interview promoting her positive female image blog, the 20-year-old also claimed her father is “feminist”.

Clarkson sr. is due to appear on TFI Friday’s one off anniversary special this Friday.

On her father’s recent – highly public – “fracas” and subsequently departure from the BBC, Clarkson labels the situation “upsetting,” but says her father will “bounce back.”

Educated at the same private school as health blogger Ella Woodward, Clarkson eschewed university (despite gaining a place at Leeds), instead moving to Dublin with her musician boyfriend.
