Kesha has responded to an individual who labelled her “ugly” and a “w****” and rebuked bodyshamers as a whole.

The 29-year-old singer said she felt compelled to address the commenter’s insults rather than letting them upset her.

Kesha has often spoken honestly about her struggle with body image in the past. The singer entered treatment for anorexia and bulimia in March 2014.

“I see that you would very much like me to know that you think I'm ugly and also a 'w****,” Kesha wrote to the user, whose account is private. “Well, I understand that is your opinion but I disagree.”

“I'm not perfect but I'm pretty f****** magical,” Kesha continued. “And also, I am not, in fact a w****. Also bullying someone who has struggled publicly with body issues is pretty mean.”

Kesha posted the comments alongside an Instagram photo of her bent over from behind wearing a blue bikini bottom. In the post, she also explained it was fortunate she felt strong enough to address the remarks.

“On behalf of anyone anywhere who struggles with body image, STOP IT. My body is not your business,” she added.

Kesha has hit back at online critics in the past. Three weeks ago, she wrote “byeeeeeeee haters and body shamers” on Instagram. “I'm hot when my a*** is big. I'm hot when it small. GET OVER IT.”
