Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo stuns fans with drug baron post

The Argentinian player, 24, raised a few eyebrows on Instagram

Rojo's Instagram post quoted notorious Colombian drug baron Pablo Escobar, who was known as The King of Cocaine, which was swiftly deleted after complaints from fans.

The quote translates: "Only those who went hungry with me and stood by me when I went through a bad time at some point in life will eat at my table."

Rojo posted then swiftly deleted the controversial image on Instagram

Plenty of commenters stood by Rojo, with one saying: "Don't worry lad post what ever you want[sic]."

Escobar ran the Mellin Cartel, a drugs network which was responsible for an estimated 3,500 assassinations, including 500 police officers.

Manchester United has not commented on Rojo’s post.
