New Yorkers have blessed the late David Bowie with new defacto street art.

Fans of the legendary, shape-shifting rockstar met at the corner of Houston and Bowery on Saturday night during the city’s second largest snowstorm in history. Twenty-seven inches of snowfall couldn’t prevent members of the Lisa Project from renaming the street to “David Bowery.”

Despite hardly resembling the artists’ name, the tribute was painted nearby Bowie’s former apartment on Lafayette Street. The gesture was just one of many tributes in New York City — and across the world — remembering the life of the beloved musician.
