Actress Lipman admits taking LSD
Veteran actress Maureen Lipman has said she once tried LSD.
Lipman, who played Beattie Bellman in the BT adverts, was taking part in a documentary for Five called Sex, Drugs And Rock 'n' Roll: The 60s Revealed.
When talking about the hallucinogenic drug, she said: "I think I did take it once, rather unpredictably ended up with someone I shouldn't have... um... (smiling) saw him the other day actually, funnily enough in a Notting Hill butcher."
On the subject of cannabis, the 62-year-old said: "I never ever learnt to roll one myself... Jewish princess stuff."
The programme sees stars commenting on interviews from the 1960s.
Cilla Black, who was also interviewed for the show, said: "Everybody was tripping out doing all that stuff and I was very much into being a professional... I was scared, I was actually very, very scared of drugs."
On the subject of the Beatles' trip to India to meet the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the singer said: "Ringo came home early 'cos he missed his baked beans."
* Sex, Drugs And Rock 'n' Roll: The 60s Revealed airs on 1 December at 9pm.
