Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was taken away in handcuffs by police at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris following an alleged drunken brawl.

The actor was in Dublin on Friday with his girlfriend, Belfast model and TV presenter Katie Larmour, and assured fans that he was doing fine following his well-publicised battle with drink.

But one day later, the actor was videoed throwing cash at policemen and bragging of his wealth at the French airport. It is believed that Jonathan (31) was first approached by three airport police after an alleged scuffle with a passer-by.

He pulled cash from his luggage and thrust it at the officers, but it fell to the floor. When the Cork actor was asked to pick it up, he refused outright.

“It means nothing to me,” he was alleged to have said. “I have millions of it. You can take it.”

The face of Hugo Boss then pushed his hands together and motioned to be handcuffed.

“You wanna arrest me? You wanna arrest me? You wanna hit me? Hit me.”

A spokesperson for the airport police said that on Saturday afternoon a 31-year-old man was arrested at Charles de Gaulle Airport following a disturbance in a terminal.

“The man was taken to a police station and then released pending further enquiries,” she said.

This is not the first time The Tudors actor has found himself in trouble at an airport. Two years ago, Jonathan was charged with public drunkenness and breach of the peace as he tried to get on a plane in Dublin Airport.
