Basoeki Abdullah, artist, died Jakarta 5 November. Official portrait- painter to the Thai Royal Family, known as the 'Palace Painter'. His subjects included King Bhumibol Adulbyadej of Thailand; Queen Juliana of the Netherlands; President Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines, and Imelda Marcos; the Duke of Edinburgh; Prince Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei; and President Suharto of Indonesia.
