Obituary: Betty Heitman

Betty Heitman, politician, died Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 1 February, aged 64. Republican National Committee co-chairwoman in the mid-1980s. She introduced 'Target Eighties', a programme designed to increase the public appointments of women.
