Obituary: Donald K. 'Deke' Slayton
Donald K. 'Deke' Slayton, astronaut, died League City, Texas 13 June, aged 69. One of the original US astronauts in the Mercury programme. Poor health prevented him from joining the second Mercury mission in 1962. His only space flight was in 1975, in a joint US-Soviet Apollo- Soyuz mission.
