Rihanna sued by former head of security over claims that she made ‘nauseatingly offensive’ comments about him

The star could face legal action over allegedly "defamatory" remarks

Rihanna is being sued by her former head of security who claims that she made “nauseatingly offensive” and false statements about him.

Dublin-based Geoffrey Keating alleges that he was defamed by the singer in an email sent to him and his wife last July. He also claims that she phoned his sister and made the same allegedly "offensive" remarks. The lawsuit was filed yesterday in Ireland.

Keating worked with Rihanna as her head of security while she was on tour between October 2012 and July 2013. He says that the statements have injured both his reputation and business.

He is seeking damages for alleged defamation, as well as an order for the star to publish a correct of the comments.

“We're taking this battle very seriously,” said his lawyer, Gerald Kean. “We are satisfied that the Irish Courts will see justice at the end of the day.”

In a pre-trial application, Keating’s lawyers were granted permission from Justice Michael Peart to serve notice of the intended proceedings on Robyn Fenty, (Rihanna), at New York apartment address.
