Leonard Nimoy, who died on Friday aged 83 after a lung disease, has started appearing on Canadian currency.

Fans have started defacing bank notes in tribute to his Star Trek character Mr Spock. Canadian Design Resource encouraged people to "Spock" their cash and people followed suit, inking Spock's distinctive hairstyle and eyebrows over the face of former Canadian Prime Minister Sir Wilfrid Laurier.

Live long and prosper, indeed.
