Politics: No health warnings for mobile phones
The Government last night ruled out putting health warnings on mobile phones following unsubstantiated fears that the electromagnetic waves might cause cancer.
President of the Board of Trade Margaret Beckett said the current rules were based on well established guidelines. Before being connected to a British mobile network, phones must gain Type Approval, which includes a test of the power output of the aerial.
