TWO AUSTRIAN climbers have been stranded since Tuesday on Mont Blanc where heavy winds and snowfall have prevented their rescue.
Police said yesterday that the climbers first contacted them by radio from the Vallot refuge at an altitude of 4,300m (14,100ft). The bad weather and the high risk of avalanches have so far prevented rescue either by foot or helicopter.
