Sion Jenkins wins pounds 250,000 bail
Sion Jenkins, the deputy headmaster who is charged with the murder of his 13-year-old foster daughter, Billie-Jo (left), was yesterday released on pounds 250,000 bail.
After an emergency application to Lewes Crown Court, in East Sussex, Mr Jenkins, 39, was freed on conditional bail. Last week, he was remanded in custody for a month after being charged with the murder on 14 March. He has spent two weeks in custody.
Mr Jenkins' solicitor, Brendan Salsbury, was unavailable for comment yesterday. Billie-Jo was bludgeoned to death with a metal tent spike at the family home in Lower Park Road, Hastings, East Sussex, on 15 February.
