Championship side Wigan Athletic shocked Manchester City in the FA Cup at the Etihad Stadium, Jordi Gomez and James Perch scoring as the underdogs won 2-1 to make a Wembley semi-final against Arsenal. The Latics won last year’s cup final against the same team. MORE

Sheffield United became the first third-tier side to make the last four of the FA Cup in 13 seasons as goals from Ryan Flynn and John Brayford secured a 2-0 win over Charlton. The Blades will face Hull at Wembley next month for a place in the final. MORE

Castleford edged a 12-try thriller to maintain their early season form with 36-31 victory over Wigan. Luke Dorn went over late on for his second try of the match as Castleford moved joint top of the Super League.

Quickfire treble sends Hull through

Three goals in nine second-half minutes gave Hull a 3-0 FA Cup sixth-round victory over Sunderland as Steve Bruce’s side made the last four for the first time in 84 years. Curtis Davies, David Meyler and Matty Fryatt all found the net against the under-strength visitors. MORE

Wenger: Özil ready to impress Bayern

Arsène Wenger believes Mesut Özil can maintain his form as Arsenal visit Bayern Munich tomorrow. “He has a good opportunity to show how good he is,” the manager said ahead of the Champions League visit to the midfielder’s homeland. MORE

England continued their recent form to claim a first Triple Crown in 11 years and remain in contention for the Six Nations title with one round to go. Danny Care and Luther Burrell went over for the hosts at a sunny Twickenham as holders Wales were beaten 29-18. MORE

Britain end World Indoors on a high

Great Britain enjoyed a fine final day at the World Indoor Championships, Katarina Johnson-Thompson leading the way with a silver in the long jump. There was also a silver in the men’s 4x400m, as well bronze in the women’s 4x400m and men’s 800m. MORE

Broad ruled out as England well beaten

England were well beaten in the opening Twenty20 international in Barbados by 27 runs. West Indies posted 170 for 3, Marlon Samuels making 69, while England struggled to 143 for 9. To make matters worse, Stuart Broad has been ruled out for the rest of the tour with a knee injury. MORE

Nadal overcomes injury to progress

Rafael Nadal overcame doubts over his back injury to beat Radek Stepanek in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. The Spaniard fought his way through 2-6, 6-3, 7-5, while there was also a win for Roger Federer.
