Top cancer research award for Briton
A British scientist, Dr Paul Nurse, has won the Albert Lasker Award for Basic Medical Research for pioneering work in cancer research. Dr Nurse is director-general of the Imperial Cancer Research Fund. The award is an honour second only to the Nobel Prize.
