BRITISH AIRWAYS cabin crews were balloted over strike action in a pay dispute threatening regional services. The airline's flights from Manchester and Birmingham could be grounded next month if more than 600 crew at the two airports vote for action.

The result will not be known for two weeks and BA would have to be given another seven days' notice before any action could take place.
