Anderton Boat Lift to be restored

Members of the Broken Cross boat club in Northwich, Cheshire, dressed in traditional bargee clothes, walking past mechanisms from the Anderton Boat Lift which was closed in 1983. English Heritage yesterday announced a pounds 500,000 grant towards the pounds 3m costs of restoring the lift.
