ASSAULTS on staff at work have more than doubled in a decade and the severity of attacks has increased, according to a report by Incomes Data Services, an independent research body. .
Levels of violence in Britain are still well below those in the United States, where deaths by shooting account for 17 per cent of all workplace fatalities, and homicide is now the most common cause of workplace deaths in many states.
