Police launched a hunt for an assistant bank manager after he disappeared shortly before pounds 100,000 was found missing from cash machines and a safe.

Ian Lumb, 37, of Rawtenstall, Lancashire, was last seen leaving the NatWest bank where he worked in Bolton, Greater Manchester. He failed to arrive home and staff later discovered the money was missing. Police refused to comment on reports that Mr Lumb had money worries.
