Barrier death

Robert Bain, 42, a Jehovah's Witness, of Armitage, Staffordshire, who died when his car hit a defective motorway crash barrier on the M40 in Oxfordshire might have been saved if he had not refused a blood transfusion, an inquest was told. Mr Bain died several hours after a metal barrier pierced the door of his car on the M40 in Oxfordshire, cutting off his leg. A verdict of accidental death was recorded.
