The scientist found beheaded in her home has been named by police as Samantha Ho.

The 39-year-old was discovered dead at her house in Curlew Place, in the village of St Neots, Cambridgeshire, on Saturday evening.

Timothy Allen, 40, also of Curlew Place, has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday morning.

Cambridgeshire Police said a post mortem showed Ms Ho died from “multiple cuts to the neck”.

Her body was found after armed officers, called by the ambulance service, forced entry into the house.

Witnesses reportedly said Ms Ho’s body and head were found separately.

Ms Ho had worked as a scientist for the bioscience company Asterand for the last 10 years, and had attended Nottingham Trent University.
