Bonington son accused of theft

The son of Chris Bonington, the mountaineer, stole pounds 10,000 of antique furniture by tricking a dealer into thinking it belonged to a friend's dead grandmother, a court was told yesterday.

Daniel Bonington, 25, and Duncan Weir, 23, found the furniture in an empty house, Knightsbridge Crown Court was told. They both deny burglary.

The case continues today.
